Solar for transport and logistics
Transport and logistics companies across Ireland are putting their roofs to work. We've delivered for operators like Noone Transport and Caffrey International Freight, and we have agreements in place for a further megawatt of solar in the sector.
Noone Transport doubled their system
We first installed 150 kWp for Noone Transport. Because the system was so successful, they came back this year and added another 150 kWp.

A growing part of our work
We now have agreements in place for a further megawatt of solar with new clients in the sector, due for completion in Q1 2027 and benefiting from the enhanced SEAI grant.
See our reference sitesWhy it suits your sector
- Large roofs. Warehouses and depots have the space solar needs.
- Daytime demand. Offices, workshops and cold stores use power while the panels generate.
- Room to grow. Your system can be extended as your business grows.
- Carbon data for tenders. Measured figures for customers who ask.
Significant grant support, for a limited time
SEAI's Non-Domestic Microgen Grant rates are temporarily doubled for new applications made by 6 July 2027, covering up to 45% of the cost, up to €325,200.
Companies can also write off qualifying solar equipment in year one under the Accelerated Capital Allowance. We prepare the grant application and the claim for you.
How the enhanced grant worksYour figures depend on your roof, your electricity use and your rates. Estimates only, not guaranteed by Solectric. Grants are subject to SEAI approval and eligibility.
Your roof comes first
We design around your roof and its warranty from the start.
- Kingspan insulated roofs. We supply and install Kingspan's own solar mounting system for Kingspan roofs, so your roof warranty and integrity stay protected.
- Industrial sheet roofs. Fixings are matched to your roof sheet, to keep it weathertight.
- Flat roofs. Self-ballasted systems sit on protection mats, with no holes in the membrane.
Kingspan mounting is subject to Kingspan's terms and your roof panel type.

Common questions
Does solar suit a transport yard or depot?
Often, yes. Workshops, offices, cold stores and warehouses all use electricity during the day. We assess your electricity use and your roof, then size the system to suit.
What if the site is quieter at certain times?
We model your quiet periods as well as your busy ones. Surplus can be exported or stored, and your proposal shows the difference.
Can we add to the system later?
Yes. Noone Transport started with 150 kWp and added another 150 kWp, doubling their system.
We lease our depot. Can we still have solar?
Often, yes. See solar for tenants.
