Solar panels for warehouses and logistics
Warehouses and distribution centres have the roof space solar needs. We design around how your site actually uses electricity, so the system is sized for your business and not just your roof.
What makes warehouses different
A big roof doesn't always mean a big electricity bill. The right system depends on when and how your site uses power.
- Chilled and temperature-controlled stores. Steady daytime loads that use what the roof generates.
- Ambient warehouses. Lower daytime use, so sizing and storage matter more.
- Weekends and quiet periods. We model these too, so surplus generation is planned for.
Getting the design right
- We assess your electricity use and your roof
- Inverters and batteries can be mounted outside, keeping racking and floor space clear
- Battery storage can move surplus solar to later in the day
- Backup can keep essential circuits running in a power cut
Your roof comes first
We design around your roof and its warranty from the start.
- Kingspan insulated roofs. We supply and install Kingspan's own solar mounting system for Kingspan roofs, so your roof warranty and integrity stay protected.
- Industrial sheet roofs. Fixings are matched to your roof sheet, to keep it weathertight.
- Flat roofs. Self-ballasted systems sit on protection mats, with no holes in the membrane.
Kingspan mounting is subject to Kingspan's terms and your roof panel type.
Significant grant support, for a limited time
SEAI's Non-Domestic Microgen Grant rates are temporarily doubled for new applications made by 6 July 2027, covering up to 45% of the cost, up to €325,200.
Companies can also write off qualifying solar equipment in year one under the Accelerated Capital Allowance. We prepare the grant application and the claim for you.
How the enhanced grant worksYour figures depend on your roof, your electricity use and your rates. Estimates only, not guaranteed by Solectric. Grants are subject to SEAI approval and eligibility.

Common questions
Is a warehouse roof strong enough for solar?
We assess the roof before we design anything. If a roof has any limits, we design around them or tell you.
What if the warehouse doesn't use all the solar it generates?
We size the system to your electricity use. Surplus can be exported or stored, and your proposal shows the difference with and without a battery.
We lease our warehouse. Can we still have solar?
Often, yes. See solar for tenants.
Let's get started
Talk to our team. We'll assess your electricity use, design a system for your premises with your grant, savings and payback, then arrange a site visit to evaluate your opportunity.
