Solar panels for manufacturing and factories

Factories use most of their electricity while the sun is up, which makes them a strong fit for solar. We design around your production, your shifts and your roof.

Why solar suits manufacturing

High daytime loads mean more of your solar is used on site, and every unit used on site is one you don't buy from the grid.

  • Lower energy costs per unit produced
  • More control over long-term energy costs
  • Measured carbon data for customers and tenders

Designed around your production

  • Your shifts. We model your electricity use across the day and week.
  • Your peaks. Battery storage can ease the load at your busiest times.
  • Your essential circuits. Backup can keep them running in a power cut.
  • Your site rules. We agree access and safe working with your team first.

Significant grant support, for a limited time

SEAI's Non-Domestic Microgen Grant rates are temporarily doubled for new applications made by 6 July 2027, covering up to 45% of the cost, up to €325,200.

Companies can also write off qualifying solar equipment in year one under the Accelerated Capital Allowance. We prepare the grant application and the claim for you.

How the enhanced grant works
Circa 2 to 3 years Typical payback, after grant and tax relief.

Your figures depend on your roof, your electricity use and your rates. Estimates only, not guaranteed by Solectric. Grants are subject to SEAI approval and eligibility.

Your roof comes first

We design around your roof and its warranty from the start.

  • Kingspan insulated roofs. We supply and install Kingspan's own solar mounting system for Kingspan roofs, so your roof warranty and integrity stay protected.
  • Industrial sheet roofs. Fixings are matched to your roof sheet, to keep it weathertight.
  • Flat roofs. Self-ballasted systems sit on protection mats, with no holes in the membrane.

Kingspan mounting is subject to Kingspan's terms and your roof panel type.

Common questions

Will installation disrupt production?

We plan the installation with your team around your production. Most of the work is on the roof, and time on site is typically 5 working days for a 200 kWp system.

What happens at weekends or during a shutdown?

We model your quiet periods as well as your busy ones. Surplus can be exported or stored, and your proposal shows the difference.

Can solar help with customer carbon requests?

Yes. Your system is monitored from the day it's switched on, so your solar generation and carbon figures come from measured data.

Let's get started

Talk to our team. We'll assess your electricity use, design a system for your premises with your grant, savings and payback, then arrange a site visit to evaluate your opportunity.

Have a recent bill to hand? It helps us assess your electricity use, but it isn't needed to get started. See our privacy notice.
